Like you, we want our community to thrive through the reduction of youth offending.

We’re already doing quite a bit about it, but we could use your help.

In partnership with Oranga Tamariki and NZ Police we engage young people who are at risk of, or who are in the Youth Justice system in Aotearoa. We host a restorative process that involves whānau, professionals, victims and the community that journey with a young person to take responsibility for their actions, and support positive responses and behaviour going forward.

In January 2024 a young person was referred to one of our programmes. With a history of deep trauma resulting in a long list of antisocial activities , he had become well-known to local police and was top of their list of concerns within the community.

From the day he started until now he arrives every day, by his own choice. No truancy. His behaviours have dramatically changed, he is engaged, he’s completely different.

We're convinced he actually enjoys being around us, but we also think he has realised he has options and an opportunity to create a brighter future for himself.

Recently our local police told us that his name has disappeared from their conversations.

We are working face-to-face with young people who need someone to care, who need someone to understand, people who won’t give up and who will see past their ‘stuff’ to find ways to help.

There is great power in unity. That’s where you come in. That’s why you’re here, too.

Welcome to Springboard. We’re gathering 1000 people like you to help us make a difference. Will you join us?
