Like you, we are concerned about how many young people feel lonely, isolated and unsupported.
We walk journeys with some of our community's most vulnerable young people, and we’d love for you to journey with us, too.
Day-in, day-out, sometimes year-in, year-out, we work closely with vulnerable young people: counselling, coaching, mentoring, teaching, encouraging, challenging, celebrating. We're in for the long haul, as it's the long journey that brings the most lasting change.
Our society has changed dramatically over the past 30 years. Streaming TV, internet access, all night gaming, and social media creating an ‘always on’ connection have all contributed to a youth mental health crisis. COVID more recently has contributed to thousands of young people withdrawing from positive social settings like schools and sports clubs, isolating rangatahi and perpetuating anxiety and depression.
Springboard programmes create an access point for young people who have been isolated and for whatever reason can’t seem to find their way into mainstream pathways. Smaller numbers, relational connection, and alternative ways to engage contributes to positive experiences for young people.
We give them hope and the knowledge that someone is standing in their corner. We offer tangible outcomes like education awards, driver’s licences, employable skills development, housing support, and counselling. Ultimately we support them towards employment, giving them the confidence to explore the world again, take risks and go after their dreams.
We are whānau. We are the place they come to with no fear of judgement or isolation. No fear of violence or rejection.
We work face-to-face with young people who need someone to care, who need someone to understand, people who won’t give up and who will see past their ‘stuff’ to find ways to help.
There is great power in unity. That’s where you come in. That’s why you’re here, too.
Welcome to Springboard. We’re gathering 1000 people like you to help us make a difference. Will you join us?
